In 2010, a family friend approached me with a screenplay that he wanted to make. I had just come off of producing my first feature film, Layover, and he wanted to know if the director, my friend Joshua Caldwell, was interested in directing it. While we were interested, we knew that this film was beyond our capabilities at the time and so we politely passed. 10 years later, that same family friend told me that they had just attached a hot, up--and-coming star named Jacob Elordi to play the serial killer lead. I helped him and the other producers raise the finances for the film and in the fall of 2022 we shot the film over the course of two weeks in the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley. Starring Jacob Elordi and Zachary Quinto, He Went That Way is a taut thriller centered on the true story of a celebrity animal trainer who picks up a hitchhiker, only to discover his passenger is a young, cunning serial killer.
